Consort's and Sovereign's Archery Championship 2024
The finalists, retiring champs and Royals.
The Royal Archery Championship was held June 8, 2024 on a very flat but very windy field in Midland Vale (Goshen, NY). 48 participants registered. King Tindall and King's Consort Emerson, with Their heirs, Matthew and Fiamuin, cheered-on the competitors. Captain General Kusunoki Yoshimoto addressed the archers, then the retiring Champions, Master Peter the Red (Consort's) and Lord Eanraig the Bonesetter (Sovereign's), began the series of shoots.

The field.

Apparently to quicken the proceedings, the final 16 was halved based on the number of times archers hit their assigned target in 30 seconds. This was done twice, to eliminate the 9th contender. Instructions were unclear and the definition of a "hit" was ambiguous, resulting in confusion and grumbling. Written records from the day are not sadly lacking, but based on photos of the head-to-head pairings, the final rounds were as shown in the chart below. Each finalist was allowed 10 arrows or bolts, and the first to hit all 6 "rainbow" pigs advanced.
The new Champions, Ivarr and Ander.

The eventual winner and Consort's Champion was Lord Ivarr Valsson.
In Court, King Tindall announced his chosen Sovereign's Champion as Lord Ander Tynegate.
Other noteworthy Court business included a Durga for Lady Ellynor Redpath, a Silver Crescent for Lord Eanraig the Bonesetter, and a Golden Mantle for Master Ryan Mac Whyte.
