Queen's and King's Archery Championship June 2, 2012

Many hardy participants braved the wet weather in Smoking Rocks. The tournement was designed with a Japanese theme, and targets included a dragon, masks, lanterns, a charging mounted samurai, shooting Tengu's nose, and advancing Godzilla.

When all 11 shoots had been completed, scores were totaled and sorted, Captain General Godric reminded all present of the obligations and duties of serving as a Royal Champion, and as the top scorers were announced, each was asked if they wished to continue. Two competitors — Jacob Felinfoel (71) and Thorlaeifr hvitskegg (70) — chose to honorably step out of the competition. The 16 finalists were addressed by Their Majesties, Kenric and Avelina, and Their Highnesses, Edward and Thyra, then commenced shoot-offs against their seeded competitors. Here are the results:

In Court, Master Krakken Gnashbone and Lord Kusunoki Yoshimoto were thanked for their service as Champions and returned their regalia. Master Phillip Reed the Facetious was proclaimed Queen's Champion, and Lord Nathaniel Wyatt was invested as King's Champion.

In other Court business, Alexandra Krakkensdottir received an Award of Arms, Lady Treya min Teanga was presented with her Master Bowman badge, and Master Ryan Mac Whyte was made a Companion of the Order of Sagittarius.
