Recognizing Archers

Please see the Recognition page for some of the ways archers’ accomplishments can be acknowledged.

Participation in our many competitions can lead to prizes and cheers. Submitting scores in the various inter-kingdom challenges (such as the IKAC and the Winter Challenge) can generate word-fame and medals. Anyone can write recommendations for the East Kingdom’s awards, and marshals are encouraged to do so when they feel any of “their” archers are deserving of Royal notice. By shooting our Royal Rounds, archers can observe their own progress as they earn new rankings — so please make sure you promptly submit any scores you marshal.

Ranking Achievements: Any marshal can help with this, but it is especially important that archery officers for local groups ensure that archers who achieve a new EK Ranking receive a badge to acknowledge it. By tradition, the achievement of Master Bowman and Grand Master Bowman ranks are recognized by the Royalty and badges are presented in Royal Court. Badges for Archer, Marksman and Bowman ranks should be presented with some fanfare, such as in Baronial Court or at other local activities.

Archers may wear the badge of any rank they have earned. Badges can be made in any material or technique. For convenience, stamped leather badge blanks (unpainted) are available from Ygraine for $1 each.
